Responsibilities and Qualifications

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION

Support of the Outdoor Products Division by preparing journal entries and preparing account reconciliations; provide assistance with financial audits and SOX controls; instrumental in the Month End closing schedule.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. CPA, MBA preferred.

  • Three or more years of Accounting experience

  • Must have large ERP system experience

  • Must have advanced Excel skills

  • Demonstrated problem-solving competencies

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Timely and accurate preparation of:

  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries

  • Monthly account reconciliations

  • Monthly financial analysis

  • Adherence to Financial Month End closing schedule

  • Compliance activities as required – GAAP, SOX, and others as defined

  • Prepare and provide information in support of audit requests

  • Maintenance of Financial systems and ensure adherence to Financial code block standards

  • Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies

  • Adhere to company values and beliefs.

  • Perform other duties as requested

Physical Requirements : A majority of work spent sitting operating computer and preparing and revising handwritten documents. Some standing and movement to fax, copy and file and some handling of files. Lifting and moving weights of up to 10 pounds. Extensive verbal and written communication with other employees.

Mental Requirements : Reading comprehension to understand technical releases, memos, spreadsheets, and accounting principles. Strong working knowledge of basic mathematical concepts. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required to make comparisons/computations, to interpret trend differences, and to find and resolve inconsistencies in data. Work initiation and strict attention to detail for all duties. Awareness of time to meet deadlines. Flexibility to handle multiple concurrent tasks and frequent interruptions. Ability to handle confidential payroll, cost, and profitability data.

Equipment Used : Personal computer, copy machine, calculator, and telephone.

Working Environment : Most time is spent in an office environment. Some time is spent in the manufacturing plant to review process and inventory, etc. This exposure subjects incumbent to temperature changes, dirt, dust, noise, vibration, moving objects, etc.
