          Works under the supervision of the Audiologist to assist with the newborn infant hearing screening program, by providing hearing screens and documentation of results
          *

          Screens infants for hearing loss using otoacoustic emissions (OAE) and/or automated auditory brainstem screening (AABR) technology
          *
          Assists the Audiologist with filing, data collection, or other clerical responsibilities as directed
          *
          Participates in team meetings and process improvement activities
          *

          Understands and responds appropriately to critical and sensitive health situations
          *
          Assists the Audiologist in coordinating the process of the newborn hearing screening with staff in the Birth Care Center, Women's Hospital (floors 3, 4, 5), NICU and NSCU
          *

          Communicates effectively and within the boundaries of a technician regarding the outcome of the infant's hearing screening
          *

          Assists the Audiologist in documenting and compiling data required by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) for the newborn infant hearing screening (NIHS) program
          *
          Required Registration, Licensure or Certification
          *
          Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course, as specified in policy
          *

          Required Education or Experience
          *
          High School Diploma or equivalent
          *
          Preferred Education or Experience
          *

          Previous experience in Audiology, Speech, or Healthcare related field
          *
          College level course work in Speech Pathology or Audiology
