Title: RN Staff Nurse BU - Part Time (Days) Surgery

Position Summary:
The role of the Registered Nurse is that of a circulating nurse although scrubbing skills are valuable to this position and are utilized in providing patient care. The nurse provides and supervises patient care under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director in conjunction with the OR team.. The Registered Nurse provides therapeutic and administrative services necessary for the care of the patient/family, and in support of the mission of Menorah Medical Center. The Registered Nurse in 701 Surgery provides care for patients from all 5 PNDS developmental groupings (Child 1-12 y/o, Adolescent 13-18 y/o, Adult 18-64 y/o, and Senior Adult >65 y/o. Nursing positions require scheduled as well as "call" commitments.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with an Associate Degree Nursing , Diploma, or BSN. Knowledge of AORN Standards/Recommended Practices. Knowledge of PNDS (Perioperative Nursing Data Sets) a plus.
Licensure/
Certifications: Must hold a current license from the Kansas Board of Nursing. BLS required upon hire. CNOR and/or specialty certification preferred.
Experience: Prior Surgery experience preferred. If new to the OR prefer 2 years of progressive acute care nursing experience. Newly licensed nurses are considered on an individual basis. Experience in circulating and scrubbing preferred.
