Position Description:
Performs a variety of laboratory procedures in Hematology, Urinalysis, Chemistry, Blood Bank, Serology, Coagulation, Microbiology and Phlebotomy on specimens obtained from patients to provide information for diagnosing and combating disease.

Position Requirements:
Education:
Minimum 4 Year / Bachelors Degree and educational requirements as required to become certified with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), National Credentialing Agency (NCA), or the American Medical Technologists (AMT).
Minimum 2 Year / Associate Degree OR educational requirements as needed to become certified with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), National Credentialing Agency (NCA), the American Medical Technologists (AMT).
Minimum Other: OR must have completed an HEW approved school of Medical Technology or the successful completion of a United States Military Laboratory training program and a minimum of 10 years of hospital lab experience required with out certification.

Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the clinical laboratory field required without a Bachelors Degree.
Hospital Lab experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills:
Laboratory Instrumentation and Equipment required
Computer Systems required

License, Registration and/or Certification (if applicable):
Medical Technologist-MT(ASCP), or Medical Laboratory Scientist-MLS(ASCP) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist CLS(NCA) or Medical Technologist-MT(AMT), or ASCP Specialist Certification (SBB, SC, SH, or SM) required upon hire.
Those without a Bachelors degree must be certified as a Medical Laboratory Technician-MLT(ASCP), or Clinical Laboratory Technician-CLT(NCA), or Medical Laboratory Technician-MLT(AMT), or Clinical laboratory Technologist-CLT(HEW), or United States Military Laboratory training program Certificate of Completion, or certification eligible. If certification is not acquired within the first 90 days, the incumbent will automatically be changed to a Medical Technologist-certified(20220) or Medical Technologist(20216).
